Before we talk location, date or technicalities, I want to meet you. We’ll get together so I can find out what's important to you. I want to know what makes you different, your love unique, your family special. I need to know what matters to you and what makes you tick.
To capture your story — truly document the essence of your being and immortalize your emotions — there are a few things you should know.
Don’t hide your vulnerabilities
It’s our instinct to hide the brushstrokes, put on a mask and tuck ourselves behind a facade. But not only is perfection an unrealistic representation of our day-to-day, it’s not compelling. We don’t love people despite their vulnerabilities, we love them because of them. These are the things that make us special, the things that make your family unique. Everyone has obstacles and challenges — it’s how we overcome them that’s unique. Don’t worry when your kids act like kids, your partner disagrees with you, or your mom starts crying. This is the beauty of it all.
Come with ideas, not shot lists
What is your story? Whether it’s motherhood or friendship, marriage or family memories, I’d love your input on the parts of your life you want to document. If you’re not sure, that’s okay too! During our initial meeting we’ll go through some questions, examples and ideas to make sure we create something reflective of you, how you are and how you feel.
